Ladies That Spend

We don't like pushing people into categories, because all sorts of different circumstances can lead to debt problems, but these three 'typical' ladies illustrate how many of us do get into debt:

'Living The Lifestyle' Ladies:
These are women who enjoy a lifestyle beyond their income. They are not just borrowing for the bare essentials in life.  They spend money they don't really have on life’s 'little luxuries', buying lovely shoes and handbags, and keeping their wardrobes bang up to date. These ladies want a celebrity lifestyle like their idols, but without the incomes to fund it and often it's paid for with borrowed money, on credit cards, catalogues, store cards and loans.

'It'll Never Happen' Ladies:
These ladies are suddenly overtaken by a life crisis, like a divorce, losing a job, or the death of a loved one.  They didn’t have debt problems and their finances were fine, No one thinks it will happen to them. But life sometimes comes and pulls the rug from under us.  When it occurs an unexpected change of circumstances can bring lives crashing down and these ladies are simply not prepared. Debt problems can happen to anyone, you're not alone.

'Making Ends Meet' Ladies:
These ladies simply try to do their best for their families. Essentials, such as school uniforms, family days out, even the weekly grocery shop are paid on credit cards as there is simply too much month at the end of their money.  These ladies tend to use credit with high interest rates and low credit limits, like store cards. Often they get into situations where they are robbing Peter to pay Paul, using one credit card to pay off another debt, this is where the spiral of debt problems start and often only the National Lottery offers hope of becoming debt free.
