Who Are Women In Debt?

Georgina is a forty something woman, who is a former directors of a leading debt advice and debt solutions company. She became rather disillusioned about the way debt advice was being given to women in the industry in general (read why just women page), and quite simply, wanted to make a difference.

Being a woman who has worked all her life and has family commitments, and, like many others, has experienced painful episodes of debt (see True Stories). Georgina worked in travel and outsourcing and finally operations, marketing and communications in the debt solutions industry.

What do Women in Debt do?

We will offer real, honest and sometimes quite direct 'kitchen table' debt advice, in a way that we believe women will appreciate. In a male-dominated industry, most of the debt advice processes are geared towards men, so why shouldn't we slant our approach to women? One thing we know is true is that although more women seek out debt advice than men, far less take up the advice that's given. Women In Debt was set up to change this.

Women in Debt Vision

Our aim now is to breathe new life into a male-dominated debt advice industry. We want to do things right and deliver debt solutions in a regulated fashion, in a largely unregulated debt advice market. That's right, companies have taken advantage of a lack of regulation in the debt advice industry, but Women in Debt is set up to meet and exceed all current legislation

We really want to bring about change in the debt solutions industry, particularly regarding its treatment of women and the way that debt advice is delivered. With the support and commitment of our clients, we believe that we can transform the way women deal with debt. Just an ordinary girl, with an extraordinary dream!
